英文绘本是以故事为主体，通过英语会话方式表现，养成幼儿阅读习惯，培养幼儿丰富的想象力和创意力；从符合幼儿生活经验的选题出发，在阅读的同时，丰富生活知识、提高幼儿的社会化英文水平。

绘本根据是否具有故事情节可以大致分为故事类绘本和非故事类绘本.故事类绘本具有一个故事所需要的要素,比如人物、时间、背景、事件发生发展过程、高潮、结局等。对于故事类的绘本,父母在给孩子选择的时候可以考虑以下几个方面：
1.故事的主题孩子是否感兴趣；
2.故事的主题孩子是否熟悉；
3.故事的情节是否单一；
4.故事情节的内在逻辑是否足够简单；
